Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking a Tool Crib / Inventory Clerk to receive, store, and issue tools and materials in our Michigan facility. You will maintain records, track inventory, and support purchasing with vendors to source materials and tooling.

You will perform tool inspections, manage stock levels, and assist in process improvements alongside the engineering team. A high school diploma or GED and experience in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of inventory management and tool tracking systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with basic inspection and measurement techniques.
• Maintain accurate records and organize inventory efficiently.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn AS9100 and ISO14001 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores, and issues tools, materials, and equipment for machining operations.
• Pre-sets and delivers tools needed for machining.
• Issues tools to workers and maintains records of issued/returned items.
• Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
• Receives, unpacks, stores, and replenishes stock of tools and equipment.
• Inspects tools for defects and wear; works with supervisors to reduce waste.
• Obtains quotes and sources materials, supplies, and tooling from vendors.
• Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Performs audits of supplies and tools and manages pricing/stock levels.
• Oversees inventory across the building and stores like Elm St assets and safety gear.
• Ensures Hazardous Communication labeling across the shop floor.
• Submits POs up to company standards for materials and tools.
• Provides backup support to receiving when needed.
