Job summary

DRT Metal Packaging in Dayton and Kettering, Ohio, is seeking a Tooling Coordinator to support our CNC machining operations. You will issue tooling, prepare tooling kits, and maintain accurate inventory to ensure machinists have the tools they need for quality and on-time delivery.

This hands-on role requires direct tool crib experience, strong organization, and working knowledge of tooling used in CNC machining and precision manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, tool room, or inventory control environment.
• Direct tool crib experience issuing, tracking, organizing, and maintaining tooling.
• Direct tooling knowledge, including cutting tools, inserts, holders, gauges, and machining consumables.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain inventory records.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and inventory documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Issue tools, equipment, and supplies to machinists and production employees.
• Prepare tooling kits for CNC machining centers and VMCs
• Maintain accurate tooling inventory and usage records
• Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming tooling and supplies
• Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits
• Inspect tooling for wear or damage and coordinate repairs or replacement
• Order replacement tooling, inserts, and consumables
• Support production by staging tooling and responding to shop-floor needs
• Track, organize, and maintain company tooling assets
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient tool crib

• Forklift or material handling experience
