Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group in Wisconsin is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to support production with tool polishing and crib duties in a 2nd shift environment.

You'll polish dies and core components, inspect tools for wear, keep inventory organized, and coordinate with Engineering and Production to minimize downtime while following 5S and safety standards.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read drawings, and the stamina to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precision handwork.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and teamwork across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Stack tools according to production schedules and work instructions.
• Polish powder metal tooling to specified finishes and tolerances.
• Use polishing methods including stones, diamond compounds, lapping.
• Clean tools following production runs per instructions.
• Measure dimensions and perform inspections per work instructions.
• Inspect tooling using microscopes, comparators, measuring instruments.
• Identify defects and perform corrective polishing.
• Maintain geometry and tolerances during polishing.
• Return tooling to storage locations.
• Prepare and ship tooling to vendors or customers as required.
• Maintain organized tool crib inventory and records.
• Follow safety procedures and 5S standards.
