Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, invites applications for a Tooling Control Clerk in Goose Creek, SC. This full-time on-site role handles tools, fixtures, dies, and devices, with emphasis on inventory control and record-keeping.

You will inspect, store, and issue tools, perform basic maintenance, and ensure calibration of measurement devices, contributing to safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related education and/or experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items and operate basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores, and issues tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices.
• Maintains records of tools issued to employees; conducts periodic inventory and requisitions stock as needed; reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment.
• Cleans, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment; disposes of surplus or obsolete equipment according to established procedures.
• Ensures that measuring devices are periodically calibrated.

The Role

• Receives, stores, and issues tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices.
• Maintains records of tools issued to employees; takes periodic inventory and requisitions stock as needed; reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using computers to enter transactions, validate information and maintain database.
• Cleans, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment; disposes of surplus or obsolete equipment in accordance with established procedure.
• Ensures that measuring devices are periodically calibrated.

Must Have

• High School/GED and 2 years of additional education and/or experience
