Job summary

Thunderbird LLC in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to maintain the parts crib and inventories at the plant. You will unload, store and issue tools and materials, perform receiving transactions, and communicate supply issues to supervision and purchasing.

The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of inventory control, and basic math for quantity verification, with physical tasks including lifting and forklift operation in a moderate-noise factory environment.

The Tool Crib attendant is responsible for maintaining the parts crib. Receives, stores and issues tools, etc. for plant. Unload and store material in proper locations and perform receiving transactions. Issue material to plant wide personnel and accurately perform system transactions. Communicate potential supply problems to supervisor and purchasing.

• Provides a high level of service to plant wide employees.
• Maintains accurate inventories and a safe organized environment.
• Maintain Crib - Dispense PPE, parts and supplies to employees and accurately perform system transactions.
• Send parts for repair and follow up on status.
• Communicate potential supply problems to supervisor and purchasing.
• Maintain logbooks for issuing certain production components.
• Moving material with fork truck, mini crane.
• Other duties as assigned.

Tool Crib Attendant Required Experience

• Knowledge of inventory control

Tool Crib Attendant Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Frequently required standing, bending, squatting,and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read applicable instructions.
