TOOL CRIB ATTENDANT
Pay: $18/hour Location: Claremore, OK
Position Summary
The Tool Crib Attendant maintains, organizes, and tracks cutting tools, holders, inserts, fixtures, gauges, and production supplies. This role issues and receives tooling, prepares job kits, monitors inventory, and supports purchasing to ensure production has the correct tools when needed.
Primary Duties
- Issue, receive, inspect, clean, and store tooling and production supplies.
- Maintain tool check-out, returns, and inventory in the ERP system.
- Prepare and stage job-specific tool kits using routers, setup sheets, and engineering documents.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages.
- Request supplier pricing, availability, and lead times; track tooling orders.
- Identify damaged, worn, missing, obsolete, or excess tooling.
- Coordinate tool regrinding, repair, replacement, or approved disposal.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized and secure tool crib and protect precision/customer-owned tooling.
- Follow purchasing, quality, traceability, safety, and record-retention procedures.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of cutting tools, holders, inserts, fixtures, gauges, and machining supplies.
- Ability to read routers, setup sheets, planning documents, and engineering information.
- Strong organization, inventory control, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately compare tool numbers, quantities, descriptions, and specifications.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, email, and standard office applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a tool crib, machining, inventory control, purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing support.
- Experience using computerized inventory systems.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, use stairs, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to perform detailed visual inspections and wear required PPE.
- Work is performed in tool crib, office, warehouse, and production areas of an active manufacturing facility with potential exposure to machinery, sharp tools, metal chips, oils, coolant, dust, noise, and temperature variations.
