Job summary

CSP is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to support the production floor in Baltimore. The role focuses on issuing tools and supplies, maintaining accurate inventory, and coordinating with procurement for timely replenishment.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and 2–3 years in tool crib or inventory roles, with CMMS/ERP and MS Office proficiency. This on-site position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in inventory management preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in tool crib, inventory management, or similar manufacturing role.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/ERP and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Tool and equipment management: issue and track tools and supplies and ensure return in good condition.
  • Inventory control: maintain records, conduct cycle counts, and audits for accuracy.
  • Procurement and stock replenishment: monitor levels and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
  • Documentation and reporting: record transactions and generate inventory status reports for management.
  • Process improvement: identify and implement tools to improve crib operations and efficiency.
  • Safety and compliance: store and handle tools following safety regulations and inspections.
  • Customer service: assist production/maintenance teams and train staff on usage and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Tool and Equipment Management: Issue tools, equipment, and MRO supplies to production and maintenance personnel as needed. Ensure that all tools and equipment are returned in good condition and accounted for. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
  2. Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records of all tools, equipment, and supplies within the crib. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Track tool usage and life cycle to forecast replacement needs and avoid shortages.
  3. Procurement and Stock Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase requests to replenish stock as needed. Work with the procurement team to source and order new tools, equipment, and supplies. Ensure timely delivery and proper storage of incoming materials.
  4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of tool usage, inventory transactions, and maintenance activities. Generate reports on inventory levels, tool usage, and equipment status for management review. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding inventory management.
  5. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve tool crib operations and implement best practices. Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to streamline tool distribution processes. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  6. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all tools and equipment are stored and handled in accordance with safety regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections of the crib and related storage areas. Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the tool crib and across the manufacturing floor.
  7. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to all production and maintenance personnel. Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to tool and equipment distribution. Assist with training employees on proper tool usage and maintenance procedures.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in inventory management or related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tool crib operations, inventory management, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., CMMS, ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and MRO supplies used in manufacturing.
  • Basic mechanical skills and understanding of tool maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
