Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance for molding tools as per plan.
• Replace or rework worn tool elements.
• Solve tooling issues observed during molding runs.
• Train junior operators in grinding techniques and inspection methods.
• Receive new molds and conduct incoming inspection.
• Operate grinding machines and inspect tool elements.
• Identify fasteners and inspect tool components.
• Inspect angular dimensions on profile projectors.
• Handle measuring instruments (micrometer, vernier caliper).
• Conduct tool element inspections with height gauges/master.
• Change mold tools during molding.
• Perform PM checks on machinery like grinders and mills.
• Use hand drills and operate manual milling machines.
• Estimate workload per plan and deliver 100% on time.
• Monitor weekly performance on Right First Time and tool quality.
• Gather required standard elements at tool allocation.
• Prepare machining sketches for grinders and ensure drawings are met.
• Assemble tools with proper shut-offs.
• Attend tool trials and resolve issues before handover.
• Store all quality system documents as per procedure.
• Conduct 5S activities around assembly area.

Job description

This full-time position is required to have experience in grinding and mold assembly. Should have skills to assemble tools with perfect shut-off and ensure no flash on the part during trials. Take the ownership of the project and follow-up till mold is handed over to production without any quality issues.

Job Details

• As per plan, preventive maintenance should be carried out for molding tools.
• Able to replace / rework if any tool elements are found worn out, broken, chipped, etc.
• Responsible for solving tooling issues if any found during running the mold.
• Be able to train junior operators in assembly techniques (Grinding techniques, advanced inspection techniques, etc.)
• Responsible for receiving new mold’s & conducting incoming inspection.
• Responsible for operating grinding machines.
• Knowledge on identifying fasteners and inspecting the tool elements.
• Knowledge on inspecting angular dimensions in profile projectors.
• Handling of measuring instruments like micrometer, vernier caliper.
• Inspection the tool elements in height gauge/master.
• Responsible for changing the mold tool in molding.
• Knowledge of PM check of machine like grinding, milling.
• Knowledge of hand drill, operating of manual milling machine.
• Estimate the work as per plan and deliver the job 100% on time every time.
• Must monitor and report weekly performance on Right first and Quality of every tool he makes.
• Collect all required std. elements for tool as soon as tool allocation.
• Prepare the machining sketch for grinding operators and make sure all elements are manufactured as per drawing and keep ready for final assembly.
• Assemble tool and ensure all shot-offs are perfectly matched.
• Attend the tool trial and make sure no other open issues before handover the tool for production.
• Make sure all quality system related documents are stored as per the procedure.
• Conducts and monitors 5S activities in and around Assembly area.
