Job summary

YMCA of Metro North Y Academy Melrose is seeking a full-time Toddler Teacher to join our team at 106 Main Street, Melrose. The role runs from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

We offer competitive pay ranging from $20.00 to $26.00 hourly, plus benefits including 403B, pension, and a free family YMCA membership. Requirements include a degree in education or related field and at least 1 year of child-care experience.

Qualifications

• Present documentation of degree from an accredited college or university in education or human services.
• Minimum of 1 year (2,000 hours) of child-care experience.
• Detail orientation and organizational skills required.
• People-oriented with strong communication with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow YMCA Policies, MA EEC regulations, and QRIS standards.
• Ensure child safety and maintain attendance per licensing.
• Communicate with parents about child progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Provide positive adult/child interactions and age-appropriate guidance.
• Maintain learning centers with labeled materials and prepare space daily.
• Attend monthly team-planning meetings and document weekly child observations.
• Operate the program per YMCA policies and prepare for annual inspections.
