Job summary

Stoneham YMCA Child Care Center, part of the YMCA of Metro North, is hiring a Toddler Teacher to support a 15 months to 2 year old classroom at the Stoneham Y Academy site. The role runs Monday to Friday, with typical hours from 7:30am to 5:30pm, totaling about 40 hours per week.

We offer a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a 75% discount on Early Learning Child Care Tuition at affiliated Y-Academies. EEC Toddler Certified teachers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• EEC Preschool Teacher Certified is required.
• 1–2 years in a preschool childcare center is preferred.
• Ability to plan an age-appropriate curriculum and adapt to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe as a top priority and support emotional well-being of children and families.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum to foster development.

Position Description:

Come join our talented team at our Stoneham YMCAas aToddlerTeacher! The Metro North YMCA is seeking professional and engaging teachers for our Early Education Child Development Program. The Metro North YMCA is dedicated to providing excellent family-centered infant, toddler, preschool, and afterschool care.

We’re looking for EEC Toddler Certified Teachers for our 15 months to 2 year old classroom.

Our Teachers:

• Keep the safety of children as a first priority. Emphasize personal safety and emotional well-being with the children, families, and other staff at all times.
• Plans and implements an age-appropriate curriculum that fosters children’s development.
• Provides differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of children in the classroom.
• Conduct child assessments and provides feedback and recommendations to parents and caregivers.
• Lead by personal example, and help to interpret the quality of the YMCA character values of children, staff, and families. Are positive healthy role models.
• Uses positive and constructive methods of behavior management and ensures that all staff does the same.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior and guide transitions smoothly
• Collaborate with the co-teacher in the design of the classroom space. Are responsible for making sure that materials are ready for use and put away at the end of the day.

The Details:

You will be working out of theStoneham Y Academysite, at 100 Maple Street, Stoneham. Programs take place Monday to Friday, with the typical program hours being 7:30am to 5:30pm 40hrs/per week.
