Magical Beginnings Wakefield is hiring a Toddler Teacher to support curious learners in the classroom. You will design engaging activities, co-teach with another teacher, and communicate progress to families using Class Dojo and classroom boards.

Ideal candidates hold EEC Infant Toddler Certification, CDA, or an equivalent degree and experience, with daycare center background. We offer paid holidays, healthcare, planning time, and a family-friendly environment.

• Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting.
• Patience, positive energy, and a love for helping young children meet and exceed developmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with your co-teacher to prepare curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and monthly newsletters.
• Keeping parents informed by posting information on Class Dojo and classroom boards.
• Providing a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
• Encouraging children’s participation through age-appropriate activities.
• Maintaining classroom cleanliness and daily preparation for the next day.
• Assisting with diapering, feeding, naps, and bathroom needs as required.
• Adhering to the daily schedule and assisting other teachers.
• Tracking children’s progress and completing assessments.
• Maintaining professional development hours and PQ registry.
• Attending monthly staff meetings.
• Creating a fun, safe learning environment and building positive relationships with students and parents.

We are currently seeking a Toddler Teacher to join our loving and experienced team at our Wakefield center.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

• EEC Infant Toddler Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience required
• Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
• Patience, positive energy, and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals

Some requirements of the role include:

• Flexibility to work an 8-hour shift within the operating hours of the school, including opening and closing shifts
• Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
• Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

As a Toddler Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with your co-teacher to equally prepare curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and monthly newsletters.
• Keeping parents informed by posting parent information on the Class Dojo app and classroom boards.
• Providing a safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing classrooms.
• Encouraging children’s participation by providing age-appropriate interactive activities.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the classroom: routine opening/closing of the classroom (including, but not limited to wiping down the toys, cleaning tables, vacuuming the room, sanitizing the room (after all children have left), bathrooms, emptying trash, and overall preparation of the classroom for the next morning.
• Engaging with students in free play, supervising/zone during outdoor time, helping with bathroom needs (including toilet training assistance and diapering), snack and meal assistance (preparing bottles, heating up lunches, cutting up food, helping open containers, supervision), naptime assistance, etc.
• Adhering to the daily classroom schedule while assisting teachers.
• Tracking children’s progress and completing assessments.
• Maintaining your EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
• Attending monthly staff meetings.
• Creating a fun and safe learning environment for your students.
• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.

$18 - $24 an hour
