Job summary

Montclair YMCA is hiring a Full-Time Early Childhood Assistant Teacher for the Toddler Classroom in Montclair, NJ. You will support the lead teacher, supervise children, and help create a safe, engaging environment with singing, reading, and structured activities.

Minimum requirements include 18+, a high school diploma with about 2 years of classroom experience; CPR/First Aid; and CDA enrollment within a year if only a high school diploma is held. Benefits and a regular schedule are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Must possess a high school degree and 2 years classroom experience as an aide or other suitable experience with children.
• Must enroll at their expense and complete a CDAprogram within the first year of employment if theincumbentpossessesonlyahigh school diploma.
• Must possess, maintain, and renew CPR for the Professional Rescuer, EPI, Asthma and First Aid within 90 daysofhire.

Responsibilities

• Greet each child and parent upon arrival.
• Assist the teacher with instructional lessons and activities.
• Read and sing with the class on a daily basis.
• Help supervise outdoor play and ensure safety.
• Assist in serving snacks and maintaining a clean, organized classroom.
