Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College Association is seeking an Assistant Teacher for the Toddler program. The role supports a Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.

The Assistant Teacher engages with children daily, assists with routines, and ensures proper supervision and care. This position requires adherence to OCFS regulations and CACFP guidelines while offering generous benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Maintain OCFS regulatory compliance and background clearances.
• All employees must complete required health documentation and training per OCFS.
• Experience or education in early childhood education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing environment.
• Support with activities, routines, and learning experiences.
• Monitor child supervision and maintain staff-to-child ratios.
• Engage with children through play and conversations.
• Assist with toileting, meals, and rest as appropriate.
• Document daily activities and child progress.
• Communicate with families and staff as needed.
• Collaborate with Center staff to cover classrooms.
