Job summary

Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center in Savannah, GA is seeking an experienced Assistant Infant teacher to join our caring classroom team. You will support Lead Teachers, the Director, and Assistant Director in providing a safe, loving Christian environment where children can thrive, and you will build strong relationships with children, families, and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent (required).
  • 1 year+ experience with on-the-job training; maintain 18 hours of continued training per year.
  • Must be able to work full-time, Monday through Friday.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Satisfactory Comprehensive National background check through Bright From the Start.
  • Genuinely care about children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
  • Friendly, team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic, nurturing, positive, child-friendly personality.
  • No electronics on the clock unless using Procare or with permission.
  • Strong verbal communicator who engages with parents.
  • Maintain professional appearance and lead by example.
  • Respect the center's mission and values; CPR/First Aid preferred or within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard confidentiality of communications between employees and/or parents.
  • Foster a safe, loving environment for holistic child development.
  • Collaborate with lead teacher to implement lesson plans and schedules.
  • Adhere to classroom, outdoor, meals, snacks, and activity schedules.
  • Maintain regular communication with families through Procare.
  • Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for diverse needs.
  • Manage classroom materials, keeping them clean and organized.
  • Perform diaper changes and clothing adjustments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher or Directors.

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Infant teacher to join our Infant classroom team at Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center. Our center provides a safe and loving Christian environment where children can thrive, and we're looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about early childhood education. As an Assistant teacher, you will support our Lead Teachers, Director, and Assistant Director in creating a nurturing environment for our children, assisting in activities that promote quality care and education, and developing strong relationships with our children, parents, and staff. What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of internal and external communications between employees and/or parents, upholding professional standards at all times
  • Cultivate a safe and loving environment that fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development of each child, ensuring their overall well-being and happiness
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to implement lesson plans, schedules, and supervision, while encouraging participation and engagement from children that align with our program goals
  • Adhere to the program schedule for the classroom, outdoor time, meals, snacks, and special activities, maintaining a sense of structure and routine
  • Maintain regular, positive, and informal communication with families through Procare, keeping them informed and involved in their child's daily life
  • Ensure a safe, comforting, and stimulating environment at all times, catering to the diverse needs and interests of our children
  • Manage classroom materials, ensuring they are clean, ordered, and readily available for use
  • Perform diaper changes and clothing adjustments as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Director, or Assistant Director
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent (required)
  • 1 year+ experience of on-the-job trainingMaintain 18 hours of continued training for the year
  • Must be able to work FT, Monday through Friday
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Will need to receive a Satisfactory Comprehensive National background check through Bright From the Start
  • Genuinely care about children and their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development
  • Friendly and a desire to work as a team in a rewarding, fast-paced environment
  • Energetic, nurturing, positive, child-friendly personality
  • Cannot be on electronics while on the clock, unless using Procare for documentation or given permission
  • Strong verbal communicator with an upbeat personality who is comfortable and excels with speaking to parents
  • Be clean, neat, dress professional at all times, and be a good role model for impressionable children
  • Must be willing to follow our mission statement and lead by example
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred) or within 90 days of hire
