Job summary

GDIT seeks a Systems Technician to join the NIH CIT program in Bethesda, MD. You will coordinate and dispatch technicians and engineering teams to resolve enterprise-wide issues, while eyes-on-glass monitoring the network infrastructure and investigating alerts for timely responses.

You will author outage communications to NIH leadership, write incident summaries, and collaborate with technical teams to prevent recurrences.

Qualifications

• AA/AS or equivalent experience with three years in IT
• Three years in help desk/service desk or NOC environment
• Three years IT experience with networking or network monitoring tools

Responsibilities

• Provide eyes-on-glass monitoring using monitoring tools
• Investigate and verify alerts and reported issues
• Escalate issues to Tier 2 network operations when necessary
• Access devices and analyze graphs/logs
• Review device logs and analytics
• Provide event management and communication support for NIH
• Support 24x7 monitoring to identify problems
• Coordinate and facilitate conference bridges for event management
• Prepare incident reviews and lessons learned reports for senior management
• Communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders
