To-go/Curbside Server Responsibilities

At O’Charley’s, our goal is to satisfy our guests completely so they will return again and again. We want guests to tell their family, friends, and associates about the wonderful experience we provided at O’Charley’s. You were hired because you showed us that you have “A Passion to Serve” - the desire to ensure our guests have a memorable experience every time they visit.

Our guests are the reason for our existence. Your paycheck will say O’Charley’s, but our guests are your true employers.

Responsibilities

As a To-Go Server, your first responsibility is to be an effective SALESPERSON. You must understand our food and beverage menus, specials, and promos and be able to make recommendations and suggestions based on your knowledge of food and drink items.

Your next responsibility is to ensure our guests have a great experience by providing exceptional service. You should:

  • Make each guest feel appreciated through accommodating actions.
  • Practice the “Hospitality Halo” with everyone within a six-foot radius (smile, step aside, speak first) - a friendly attitude is essential in building good rapport with guests and fellow team members. Most importantly, be polite to all guests and team members.
  • Work as a team with all O’Charley’s team members.
  • Communicate clearly and enthusiastically with guests and team members - have an outgoing attitude and retain your self-composure at all times. Treat each guest as if they are the only guest in the restaurant. Smile and stay calm to help reduce stress during busy times.
  • Immediately greet guests and ensure prompt and efficient food and beverage delivery. Serve guests in a timely manner, according to their pace. Stay organized, think and act quickly, and have a sense of urgency.
  • Have thorough knowledge of service sequences, guidelines, To-Go accounting procedures, and packaging to prepare quality products.
  • Maintain the appearance of the To-Go area through cleaning and stocking. Take pride in your personal appearance and work area.
  • Ensure “Perfect Plate” presentations before delivery.

While we all strive for excellent guest experiences, mistakes can happen. When they do, own the mistake and take all actions to correct it. Communicate with a manager to fix issues, ensuring guests leave satisfied, knowing we care about their individual needs.

Physical Requirements

Ability to continually enter and exit the building, carry orders weighing 1-25 pounds, speak, read, write, understand the primary language, perform simple math, stand and move for hours, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
