Job summary

Altman Solon is seeking a Summer/Winter Data Analyst Intern to gain exposure to strategy consulting in the TMT space. The 10‑week program runs in Boston, MA or New York, NY with a hybrid work model. You will transform complex business logic into SQL, build datasets, and report data quality issues to support client questions with analytics tools.

You’ll work with Redshift, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, BigQuery, Tableau, Python and ArcGIS to create visuals and insights for project teams.

Qualifications

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills for dynamic industries.
• Motivated to solve problems with innovative solutions.
• Strong academic record.
• Pursuing degree in CS, Math, Statistics, Economics, MIS or related IT/Engineering.
• Experience with programming languages (SQL, Python, R preferred).

Responsibilities

• Convert complex business logic into SQL queries across multiple databases.
• Build and maintain datasets for consulting teams from disparate data sources.
• Identify and report data quality issues.
• Collaborate with Analysts and Data Scientists to tie data insights to client questions.
• Work with big data technologies including Redshift, Hadoop, Hive, Teradata, Spark, and BigQuery.
