The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy to keep inventory shortages at or below store goals and maximize store sales by receiving and shipping freight within a timely manner. The TM Receiver interacts with customers and Team Members, supports selling initiatives, and performs assigned tasks to deliver a Legendary Customer Experience. Additionally, the TM Receiver promotes a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, while adhering to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

Availability, flexibility, adaptability, and service orientation are essential. You must be able to fulfill the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
  • Greet the Customer.
  • Uncover Customer Needs & Wants.
  • Recommend Product Solutions.
  • Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
• The TM Receiver performs duties including, but not limited to, processing inbound and outbound freight, maintaining inventory control, merchandise recovery, participating in freight processes, keeping work areas clean and organized, operating cash registers, assembling merchandise, and operating equipment such as forklifts and balers. The role also involves ensuring the safety and well-being of poultry, completing documentation, and obtaining necessary licenses or certifications.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications

Experience in shipping/receiving is preferred but not required. Retail, farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is a plus. Must be 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities

• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ethical conflict resolution abilities.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor work with moderate noise; outdoor work possible in adverse weather.
• Shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours, varying by store.
• Work surfaces are generally hard (concrete, asphalt), with adequate lighting and temperature.

Physical Requirements

• This is a non-sedentary position requiring physical stamina and mobility.
• Ability to operate equipment like forklifts, balers, and hand trucks, and to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch, climb, and move throughout the store during shifts.
• Ability to handle birds/poultry and complete training for propane dispensing as required.
