Job summary

Folsom Cordova Unified School District is seeking an Elementary Paraeducator for Grade TK to support classroom teachers and implement instructional activities in a general education setting.

You will help deliver literacy and numeracy instruction, supervise small groups, and provide individual assistance to students. Under supervision, you will maintain engaging learning environments and assist with classroom management and clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass the District’s Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test in reading, math, and per the Federal No Child Left Behind Act.

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary (Grade TK) classroom teacher in providing instruction.
• Utilize appropriate methods of instruction to achieve goals and assist in implementing practices that raise student achievement.
• Utilize curricular materials and assessments for instruction and intervention in literacy and numeracy.
• Work with small groups of students to reinforce instruction.
• Provide individual assistance to students; explain errors and answer questions.
• Assist with monitoring the behavior of students in the classroom and during outdoor activities.
