Job summary

Madison Park Academy Lower Campus Elementary in Oakland, CA seeks an Early Literacy Reading Tutor for 6 hours per day (.80 FTE). The position focuses on TK–2 literacy using SIPPS and SEEDS/SIPPS trainings, with data-informed instruction and progress monitoring.

The tutor will collaborate with teachers, coach staff, and maintain accurate records in Excel and databases, while meeting nondiscrimination and confidentiality standards. This is a part-time, non-exempt role offering $16.33–$19.17 hourly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Strong interest in education and helping children develop early literacy skills.
• Speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
• Computer skills to navigate online database systems and email daily.
• Energetic, results-oriented, student-focused with strong planning/time management.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Preferred: college coursework or equivalent experience or strong community experience.
• Must attend TK SEEDS of Early Learning training and/or SIPPS Training as designated.

Responsibilities

• Provide data-driven literacy instruction for TK–2 students.
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher Coach/Principal to set schedules and monitor progress.
• Record learner performance data in online databases and Excel weekly.
