Duneland School Corporation in Chesterton, Indiana seeks a Title I Paraprofessional to support Title I identified students under the supervision of the classroom teacher. The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and professional interaction with students, parents, staff and the community.
Key duties include assisting with instruction, working with individuals or small groups, maintaining student data, and supporting classroom management and administrative records as directed.
The primary responsibility for the Title I Paraprofessional is direct involvement with students in the instructional setting. Services rendered by the instructional assistant shall be delivered in close proximity to the classroom teacher and under direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Title I Paraprofessional shall work with Title I identified students as determined by approved selection criteria. This position requires the person to be very flexible in accepting assigned tasks by their supervisor with a strong sense of teamwork needed. This position will deal with community members, parents, students and staff on a regular basis and will be expected to interact with these publics in a professional, friendly, and organized manner.
Must meet all Indiana requirements as highly qualified. Two years of college or the equivalent is required in order to provide instruction to a student. A teaching license and/or educational training and experience is preferred.

Equipment: This position is required to maintain a working knowledge of all classroom equipment. A basic knowledge of operations for computers, printers, telephone systems, fax machines and copiers is required.
Hours: This position is typically expected to work an average of 5.75 hours or less per day. No more then 180 days per year. Hours/days may be adjusted per the direct supervisor to assure adequate coverage to meet the demands of the school and job.
