Duneland School Corporation is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students with intense emotional and behavioral needs at Bailly Elementary School. The role requires assisting teachers, providing instruction, and ensuring a safe, productive learning environment.
Applicants must have two years of college or equivalent, meet Indiana qualifications, and ideally possess a teaching license. This position offers a starting salary of $17/hr with opportunities for professional interaction.
The primary responsibility for the Instructional Assistant is direct involvement with students with intense emotional and behavioral needs in the instructional setting. Job duties range from supporting students in the classroom to supplementing regular classroom curriculum with additional enrichment activities for students. This position will deal with community members, parents, students and staff on a regular basis and will be expected to interact with these publics in a professional, friendly, and organized manner.
Starting hourly salary: $17/HR

Equipment: This position is required to maintain a working knowledge of all classroom equipment. A basic knowledge of operations for computers, printers, telephone systems, fax machines and copiers is required.
Hours: This position is typically expected to work an average of 5.75 hours or less per day. No more than 180 days per year. Hours/days may be adjusted per the direct supervisor to assure adequate coverage to meet the demands of the school and job.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Be capable of physically assisting students with disabilities as required in some possible assignments (positioning, lifting, transferring, restraining, etc.).
