Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the College District'sTitle IX program by assisting with program administration,compliance activities, and the management of sexual misconductreports and investigations from receipt to resolution. The Title IXDeputy Coordinator serves as a neutral resource and first point ofcontact for members of the College District community regarding sexand gender-based complaints, including sexual harassment, sexualassault, dating and domestic violence, retaliation, intimatepartner violence, stalking, pregnancy and parenting, LGBTQIA+harassment and discrimination, and other forms of sexualmisconduct.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements
- Receives and responds to incoming Title IX complaints timely andaccurately
- Serves as a primary investigator and conducts thorough,fact-based, trauma informed investigations of alleged violations of District policy and procedure; to include complaints involving sexand gender-based violations under Title VII and Title IX, such assexual harassment, sex discrimination, and gender-baseddiscrimination by students and employees
- Serves as a hearing officer when applicable
- Coordinates the initial outreach to potential complainants(students, employees, faculty, and third parties) and ensures theyare provided with information about the rights, resources, andprocesses under Title IX
- Recommends policy and procedure changes based on current oremerging laws, litigation, and regulations, and assists theDistrict Title IX Office in the development, preparation, and review of related policies and procedures
- Assists with the periodic and annual review of policies and procedures to continuously identify and integrate best practices inthe Title IX investigation and case management process
- Ensures ongoing compliance with Title IX by collecting andanalyzing data, writing comprehensive investigative reports, analytical reports, quarterly and annual reports, and maintaining records of investigations
- Coordinates and manages the formal and informal Title IXGrievance Process, including, but not limited to, investigations,hearings, and appeals in accordance to Title IX regulations and College District policies
- Partners with the Title IX Case Manager to conduct complainantintake, triage, and determine appropriate resolution ofcomplaints
- Provides timely and accurate information, guidance and supportregarding the Title IX program, processes, and regulations tointernal and external members of the College DistrictCommunity
- Participates in campus Care Team meetings
- Collaborates with law enforcement authorities, Legal/GeneralCounsel in handling complex Title IX and EEO cases
- Partners with departmental and external stakeholders to ensurecompliance with federal and state laws including, but not limited to the Clery Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act(FERPA), Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Drug FreeSchools and Community Act
- Assists or collaborates with institutional partners on educationand outreach activities to increase campus awareness of servicesand resources available to students, staff, and faculty (i.e.,Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Welcome Week Events, DomesticViolence Awareness Month, New Student Orientation)
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external communityorganizations and associations as assigned to support the EssentialPerformance Requirements*
Supervision
- Works under the general supervision of the Title IXCoordinator

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years’ working experience relatedto the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalentcombination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Human Resources, EducationalPsychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, or relatedfield
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- At least one (1) year's working experience collaborating with lawenforcement authorities, Legal or General Counsel in handlingcomplex Title IX and EEO cases
- Current Title IX Coordinator or Title IX Investigatorcertification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret State and Federal laws andregulations in relation to Title IX, the Violence Against Women Act(VAWA), the Clery Act, Campus SaVe Act, TitleVII of the CivilRights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973,HB1735, SB212, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act(FERPA)
- Knowledge and cultural competence of unconscious bias, consent,and bystander intervention
- Knowledge of best practices and methodologies for conductingtrauma informed investigations alleging discrimination based on sexand gender, including interviewing, gathering, and analyzingevidence, and writing comprehensive investigation reports,including providing supportive measures to all parties
- Skilled in conducting complex investigations and preparingdefensible, and thorough investigative reports regarding EEO, TitleIX, student conduct, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct or sexand gender-based discrimination
- Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and buildingeffective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening,verbal, and written communication skills
- Skilled in using computer applications (e.g., Maxient) andenterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and theMicrosoft 365 platform
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple, on-going, andcomplex caseloads of Title IX-related incidents andcomplaints
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlesslyensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strongattention to detail and organization
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of ateam in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff,and external stakeholders
- Ability to identify complex issues and to think critically toeffectively solve and communicate problems using establishedprocedures in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to review complex information and follow policies,procedures, and guidelines when completing assigned tasks
- Ability to coordinate assigned work and communicate effectivelywith faculty and staff to support campus and departmentaloperations
- Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuringconfidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidentialinformation
- Ability to travel to different campus locations for problemresolution, meetings trainings, and related activities

While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanicalparts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
