Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking a Title I Paraprofessional for Lithonia Middle School. The role focuses on implementing high academic expectations and providing instructional support under supervision of a licensed teacher.

Responsibilities include assisting with health-related care, monitoring students, and helping with data collection in alignment with IEPs. This is a one-year position funded by Title I funds, ending by June 30, 2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree or higher from PSC-approved college.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with a 2.0+ GPA from PSC-approved college.
• Valid PSC-approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Provide direct instructional support in small groups or one-on-one settings.
• Support teachers with lesson plans, materials, and data collection.
• Monitor student behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Assist with student assessments and recordkeeping.

Education

High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment

Associate degree or higher from PSC-approved college

Sixty semester hours or ninety quarter hours with GPA 2.0+

Paraprofessional certificate from PSC
