Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support Title I literacy compliance, family engagement initiatives, and Pre-K activities. The role involves working with small literacy groups, collaborating with coaches, and maintaining compliance records for Title I and related programs.

The position requires a high school diploma with clerical experience, strong computer skills, and excellent oral and written communication.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and one year of general clerical or school experience; college degree preferred.
• Must have strong office computer skills and good oral and written communication.
• Drug screen required for this position.
• Must be highly-qualified; can demonstrate via two years of college, a two-year degree, Para-Pro, 1,000 hours in a school, 48 college credits, or CDA credentials.

Responsibilities

• Meet with small groups of students daily to provide research-based literacy interventions for a minimum of half the school day.
• Collaborate with and learn from the principal, instructional coach, and interventionist around research-based literacy interventions.
• Compile information and maintain records, logs, and reports related to Title I literacy compliance, family engagement, and Pre-K.
• Assist in planning and executing family engagement activities (including Title I required expectations) to help families support student learning and growth.
• Assist in Pre-K classrooms to cover lunch breaks and when Pre-K staff are out; meet CPR, background checks, TB testing, and other learning modules prior to assisting.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator to meet building/unit needs.
