The role includes meeting and instructing groups, presenting materials, assisting in study programs, maintaining order, and contributing to assessment and record-keeping. Minimum education includes an Associate Degree or 90 quarter hours, or 60 semester hours, or passing

Qualifications

• Qualify for a Paraprofessional Certificate by meeting one of the listed requirements.
• Official transcript from college if applicable.
• If taking the GACE, submit a copy of your high school diploma to the provided email.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned groups and individuals at the designated locations and times.
• Presents materials required in the teaching assignment within the curriculum guides.
• Helps implement programs that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Assist in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Prepares for groups and/or individuals assigned and shows evidence of preparation.
• Provides the teacher input for assessing student accomplishments.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required.
• Assists administration in enforcing policies and rules regarding student life and conduct.
• Helps enforce classroom rules fairly and maintain order.
• Provides feedback to learners about progress and behavior.
• Attends staff meetings and may serve on staff committees.
• Reproduces, organizes, distributes, and collects instructional materials.
• Follows reasonable directives from the teacher, principal, or supervisor.
