Job summary

Welch Elementary School in Coweta County is seeking a Title I Paraprofessional to support teachers in delivering instructional programs. The position pays $14.57 per hour, runs 183 days a year, and covers 7.5 hours daily with two openings.

Qualifications

• The ability to organize, direct, and control small and large groups of children in a variety of activities and settings.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication.
• The ability to adjust to changing conditions and situations.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned groups and individuals at the designated locations and times as specified by the teacher.
• Presents materials required in the teaching assignment within the content limitations of the system curriculum guides and under the direction of the teacher.
• Helps the teacher implement programs of study that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Assist in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for groups and/or individuals assigned, and shows evidence of such preparation.
• Provides the teacher input for assessing the accomplishments of students.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required.
• Assists in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Helps enforce classroom rules and maintain order.
• Provides feedback to learners about progress and behavior.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
• Reproduces, organizes, distributes, and collects instructional materials.
• Follows directives from teachers or administrators.
