Job summary

Andover Public Schools is seeking a part-time hourly tutor to provide literacy and/or mathematics instruction and assessment to individual students and small groups. The tutor collaborates with academic specialists, instructional coaches, classroom teachers and administrators to ensure student success.

Responsibilities include pull-out/push-in instruction, ongoing progress monitoring, data recording, and participation in parent events.

Qualifications

• Certified Teacher license required (Grades 1-6 elementary or middle school).
• Experience collaborating with academic specialists, instructional coaches, teachers and administrators.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Provide instruction to groups or individuals in pull-out or push-in models.
• Conduct assessments, monitor progress, maintain instructional data, and communicate with teachers/leadership.
• Participate in parent events and meetings as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Part-time hourly tutor to provide literacy and/or mathematics instruction and assessment to individual and small groups of students. The tutor will collaborate with the school’s academic specialists, instructional coaches, classrooms teachers, and administrators in order to ensure student success

1. Provide instruction to groups of students or individual students in pull-out and/or push-in model to provide targeted instruction;
2. Conduct assessments, monitor student progress, maintain applicable instructional data, and regularly communicate with the classroom teacher and/or building leaders;
3. Participate in parent events and meetings as necessary; and
4. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Demonstrates effective collaboration, communication, and organization skills. Certified Teacher required (elementary license for Grades 1-6, or middle school license). Prior teaching experience preferred.

Direct service to students between 6-19 hours per week at the tutor rate $56.69/hr with up to two hours of weekly planning time at $40.16/hr.
