JOB SUMMARY:

The Title I Secondary Literacy Teacher is responsible for supporting Tier I and Tier II Literacy instructionaligned with Virginia Department of Education Instructional standards and effective literacy teachingpractices. This position collaborates with school instructional staff and leadership to provide targetedliteracy support without supplanting existing staffing or roles within school district allocations. Title ISecondary Literacy Teachers focus on effective literacy teaching practices, unpacking and understandingstandards, and task-standard alignment within Tier II. The Title I teacher will serve as a literacy teacherleader, focusing on assisting teachers with differentiated instruction, data-driven decision-making, andcoaching practices to accelerate student learning in accordance with Title I, Part A grant requirements,and PWCS policies.
