Qualifications

• Six months of knowledge gained through work or training preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• General knowledge of child growth and behavior.
• Provide non-instructional support for certified staff.
• Assist teachers and students in achieving program objectives.
• Flexibility to cope with changing world conditions; seek ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in intensified learning experiences and relieve the teacher of non-instructional duties.
• Assist with student arrival and departure management.
• Provide non-instructional support for certified staff.
• Assist teachers and students in achieving program objectives.
• Maintain classroom discipline in the absence of the teacher.
• Help keep the classroom neat and orderly.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain administrative records and reports.
• Assist with copying, organizing, and filing materials.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Inform teacher of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff-development training programs and meetings.
• Help decorate the classroom for events; attend faculty events as assigned.
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required.
