Qualifications

• High School Diploma or USA equivalency.
• Associate Degree or 48 College credit hours or pass an academic assessment.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Six months of knowledge and skills through work experience or training for teacher assistants is preferred.
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of child growth and behavior development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in intensified learning experiences and relieve the teacher of non-instructional duties.
• Assist teacher with student arrivals and departures.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Assist with copying, organizing, and filing materials.
• Help maintain administrative records and prepare reports.
• Attend staff meetings and events as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
