Qualifications

• High School Diploma or USA equivalency required; Associate Degree or 48 college credit hours encouraged.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate preferred.
• Six months' knowledge/skills from work experience or training for teacher assistants.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and demonstrate initiative.
• Knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in intensified learning experiences and relieve the teacher of non-instructional duties.
• Assist with student arrival/departure management.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Supervise students in class, hallways, cafeteria, gym, and playground.
• Maintain classroom records and assist with copying, organizing, and filing materials.
