Job summary

Suffolk Public Schools Creekside Elementary in Suffolk, VA seeks a Title I Interventionist to lead small group instruction in reading, math, science and social studies, aligned to state standards. Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License; Elementary Education endorsement preferred.
• Minimum of four years of successful prior teaching experience, preferably in grades K-5.

Responsibilities

• Instructs elementary students through core content small group instruction.
• Collaborates with school leadership and classroom teachers to create a schedule for intervention groups.
• Completes all requirements under Title I, Part A as requested by the Coordinator of Compensatory Programs.
• Creates a classroom environment that supports student learning objectives.
• Prepares differentiated lessons using intervention curriculum materials for all student groups.
• Uses assessment data to inform instruction and planning for identified students.
• Participates in school PLCs and grade level meetings.
• Meets the needs of identified students through co-teaching models and small group instruction.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and core content materials for age/skill levels.
• Establishes standards of pupil behavior and maintains an effective learning environment.
• Reports student progress in conferences as requested.
• Assists with screening and evaluation of students in core content areas.
• Interprets ESSA requirements related to school activities/outreach programs.
• Collaborates on family engagement programs per guidelines.
• Maintains accurate records of student support and Title I materials inventory.
