Job summary

Responsibilities include supporting instruction, preparing materials, and supervising students throughout the day. CPR/Emergency procedures training and a Texas Educational Aide certificate are desirable; salary ranges from $12.75 to $15.92 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college; formal academic assessment required.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher, working with individuals or small groups.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests or assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher maintain administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
• Notify the teacher of any student needs or problems.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
