Job summary

Regional School Unit No. 57 in Waterboro, ME is seeking an Educational Technician III at Shapleigh Memorial School. You will assist teaching staff in maintaining a productive classroom environment and support instructional programs and resources.

Qualifications

• Documentation of at least three years of post-secondary education or 90 hours in an educationally related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; understanding of the instructional process; and awareness of student needs.
• Knowledge of emergency, health, and safety procedures preferred.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested by administration.
• Must hold or be eligible for Maine Educational Technician III Authorization and CHRC Approval Certificate.
• Ability to maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information.
• Prior experience in education is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning under direct supervision.
• Assist in developing strategies based on student needs and abilities.
• Administer, score, and record assessments as directed.
• Provide input to the IEP process and parent conferences when requested.
• Provide primary support for computer lab technology and software updates.
• Maintain hardware/software inventory and assist staff with technology integration.
• Prepare instructional materials and support library/media activities.
• Assist with supervision duties and student management across classroom and school activities.
• Serve as a primary information source for substitute teachers.
