Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a Departmental Budget Analyst-Title I to manage Title I budgets, ensure compliance with fiscal rules, and coordinate with teachers, administrators, vendors, and the Budget department to track encumbrances and invoices for optimized resources.

The role collaborates across departments to reconcile accounts and improve student performance, with a strong focus on Oracle-based accounting and data accuracy. The position offers a hybrid telework schedule.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in business, accounting, or related field.
• Five years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, verifies, coordinates, and reconciles Title I budgets.
• Collaborates with teachers, administrators, vendors, and Purchasing/Budget to track encumbrances and invoices.
• Initiates and processes budget-related transactions including transfers, amendments, POs, and travel.
• Reviews Title I contracts for compliance with laws and regulations.
• Prepares monthly budget reports for department admins and external agencies.
• Reconciles Title I activity with Oracle general ledger.
• Assists in preparing budget development materials.
• Performs duties per WCPSS Finance Manual and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
