Supplemental position has been approved for the upcoming school year. This position is 100% funded under the ESSA Title I, Part A Program and will require time and effort in the form of biannual certification. In the absence of Title I, Part A funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded

To facilitate and assist in providing a quality program of instruction designed to meet the affective, linguistic and cognitive needs of limited English proficient students.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist bilingual teacher in providing quality dual-language instruction for limited English proficient students.
• Support and carry out activities related to the bilingual program.
• Perform duties involving the supervision of students.
• Communicate with students, teachers, staff, and parents.
• Present a positive role model for students.
• Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement.
• Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Bilingual Aide must spend 90-95% of their day fulfilling the responsibilities defined in the job description or other duties as assigned as related to meeting the intent and purpose of Title I, Part A per TEA guidance.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous work with children in job-related capacity or volunteer work
• Experience related to working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent
• Experience may be work in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar agencies or institutions

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment)

• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and in English
