Job summary

Hillsborough County Public Schools in Florida seeks an Aide, Title I to support instruction in the Title I classroom under the supervision of the classroom teacher. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, preparing materials, and supervising students to maintain a productive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children, be dependable, and demonstrate professional conduct in a school setting.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with children preferred.
• Must be highly qualified per the US Department of Education and Florida's Differentiated Accountability Model; meet one of the criteria listed.
• Meet one of: Associate Degree or higher, 60 semester hours or two years of higher education, or passed the ParaPro Test with score 457+

Responsibilities

• Participates in weekly and long-range planning with the classroom teacher.
• Assists the teacher in the preparation of instructional aids and enrichment activities.
• Assists the teacher in setting up room arrangements for daily activities.
• Assists the children in all activities when adult help is needed.
• Participates in parent involvement activities.
• Participates in professional development activities.
• Supervises student behavior in the classroom, lunchroom, on school grounds, and at off-campus activities.
• Assists with record keeping and inventory of materials and supplies.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
