Westcor Land Title Insurance Company seeks a Title Examiner for Central States responsibilities, reviewing public records to issue clear title opinions. You will examine deeds, mortgages, liens, and probates to ensure title insurability, explain requirements, and maintain a strong, productive workflow.

The role requires familiarity with title searching software and experience in MI, OH, IL, IN, KY, plus a solid understanding of underwriting guidelines and real estate law.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of industry experience, including preparation of title commitments.
• Familiarity with title searching software such as Ingenuity and county websites.
• Knowledge of underwriting policies and guidelines for multiple states.
• Knowledge of real estate law and title and escrow curative procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Examine title orders to determine insurability and title conditions.
• Research title plant software and evaluate documents for ownership and description.
• Explain chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers and managers.
• Recognize title defects and suggest curative solutions.
• Assess risks and escalate issues to management or underwriter as needed.
• Maintain production levels and delivery standards daily.
• Prepare accurate title commitments per procedures.
