Qualifications

• Knowledge of oil and gas title research and chain of title analysis.
• Experience interpreting public records in TX/LA jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive title research using courthouse records, online databases, GIS systems, and abstract plants.
• Review and interpret deeds, leases, probate filings, conveyances, easements, liens, judgments, assignments, and other legal instruments affecting title.
• Establish and verify complete chains of title for mineral and surface ownership interests.
• Prepare accurate title abstracts, ownership reports, run sheets, and due diligence summaries for leasing, drilling, acquisition, and curative purposes.
• Identify title defects, ownership discrepancies, unleased interests, and curative requirements.
• Collaborate with landmen, title attorneys, division order analysts, and project managers to resolve title issues and confirm ownership positions.
• Maintain organized digital and physical records of research, maps, supporting documentation, and project files.
• Travel periodically to county courthouses and clerk offices throughout East Texas and Northwest Louisiana as project needs require.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client standards, and applicable state regulations.
