Ideal candidates have 3+ years in oil and gas title work, familiarity with Permian Basin properties, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and PDF tools. You will manage your workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of oil and gas title or runsheet experience.
• Permian Basin experience preferred.
• Familiar with fee, state, and federal title.
• Proficient with county records databases (TexasFile, CourthouseDirect, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

About VOG Land

VOG Land is a Houston-based oil and gas land brokerage providing title, due diligence, and lease acquisition services to operators and mineral buyers across Texas and New Mexico. We run a steady contract pipeline and keep the landmen who deliver clean, reliable work busy.

The Role

We need an experienced title abstractor who can build accurate runsheets and mineral ownership reports from courthouse and online records without hand-holding. You'll work remotely, take project assignments from our project managers, and deliver to VOG Land's runsheet standard.

What You'll Do

• Build runsheets, mineral ownership reports (MORs), take-offs, and HBP research
• Run and abstract chains of title from sovereignty or a set start date through present
• Review leases, assignments, probates, and conveyances to determine ownership and flag title issues
• Prepare clean, organized deliverables in VOG Land's format and meet project deadlines
• Communicate status and issues to the project manager without being chased

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of oil and gas title / runsheet experience
• Permian Basin experience strongly preferred (Midland, Martin, Howard, Reagan, Upton, Reeves, Loving, Ward, Eddy, Lea)
• Working knowledge of fee, state, and federal title
• Comfortable with online county records, TexasFile, CourthouseDirect, GLO, BLM, and similar
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• Self-managed, detail-driven, and honest about what you find

Compensation

Competitive day rate, paid bi-weekly, based on experience and basin knowledge. Steady project flow for abstractors who deliver.
