Job Description

Position Summary: The campus Title I Instructional Aide assists school staff with accelerated student instruction in such a way to facilitate the achievement of the school's goals.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid TexasInstructional AideCertificate or ability to obtain upon hire
• Must meet 1 of the 2 following criteria: Associate's degree, OR48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

• Ability to work well with children, parents, and school staff
• Ability to use/learn basic computer applications
• Knowledge of general office equipment
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English
• Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional activities as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment.
• Assist in supervising students throughout the school day as needed.
• Assist in the maintenance of administrative records and preparation of reports as required.
• Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment as assigned.

Equipment Used:

• Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, presentation equipment, copy machines, etc.)
• Intermediate skill in Data Entry, Database, Presentation, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
• Google suite of applications
• Video conferencing technology

Physical / Environmental Factors:

Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).

Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
