Job summary

ATI Specialty Alloys & Components in Richland, WA, is seeking a Lab Aide to support the analytical laboratory operations. You will help process samples, run tests, and maintain data records in a fast-paced metal alloys environment.

The role requires basic math and computer skills, attention to detail, and strong communication. Shifts are 12.25 hours with rotating days/nights, onsite work, and a total rewards package including health benefits and 401k.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow work, process, quality, and safety procedures.
• Strict attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact well with employees, customers, and management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; knowledge of statistical software is a plus.
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Minimum six months of analytical laboratory experience (preferred).
• Experience in the metals industry (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operation of scales to ensure accurate material weights.
• Assists with sample processing, including storage, archiving, disposal, shipping, testing of samples, and pulling samples from the furnace.
• Conducts melt sample preparation, including button melting, punch press, and lathe operation.
• Assists with testing on various samples in the laboratory using lab equipment and the LabTrack data entry system.
• Maintains daily check sheets and log books in the laboratory.
• Conduct PM maintenance: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Laboratory cleaning duties and safety trainings; daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Must be able to operate forklifts.
• Other training and duties as assigned.
