Midwest Transplant Network in Westwood, KS, is seeking an experienced Tissue Recovery Coordinator to oversee tissue recovery on assigned shift, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Qualifications

• Associates degree in biological sciences or allied health; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years as a Tissue Procurement Coordinator; Two years as a TPC II preferred.
• CTBS certification or ability to obtain certification within two test cycles.
• Ability to work a minimum of 36 hours per week, participate in rotating holiday on-call schedule and cover at least 2 Saturday shifts every 6 weeks; travel within service area.

Responsibilities

• ADMINISTRATION: Provides timely feedback to tissue department leadership on education and training needs; supports leadership with interviewing qualified Tissue Recovery staff; conducts huddles and reports deviations to Administrator on Call; coordinates shift staffing.
• CLINICAL: Oversees tissue activities with safety protocols, mentoring tissue procurement staff; ensures staff performance aligns with policies for safe tissue recovery.
• TISSUE RECOVERY: Perform all aspects of tissue and cornea recovery; ensure FDA/AATB/commercial processor compliance; maintain knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy; establish safe, aseptic work environment; conduct donor-family interactions if needed; coordinate with internal MTN staff and partners.
• QUALITY: Maintain QA standards, identify and correct paperwork errors; report variances; ensure proper hand-offs and continuity; participate in growth and improvement activities.
