City of Indianapolis is seeking a tire repair technician to provide road service and repair tires on city vehicles and equipment. You will work with tire changing and balancing equipment, perform tire repairs on various tire types, and follow safety procedures in a tire garage environment.
Candidates should have at least five years in tire repair and be familiar with tires, rims, and repair techniques for municipal equipment.
Overview To provide road service and repairs to tires on the City vehicles equipment in support of the operating departments.
Working Conditions Work is performed outside with exposure to various weather conditions. Incumbent is exposed to intermittent noise, dust, silicia, fumes, smoke, gases, greases, oils, electrical energy, solvents, vibrations, etc. Works on slippery/uneven walking surfaces, around machinery with moving parts, around moving objects/vehicles and hands in water/wet materials. Incumbent works primarily alone.
