Job summary

The City of Indianapolis and Marion County seeks a tire technician to service the City’s vehicles in the garage and on the road. You will change tires and repair tires on construction equipment, trucks and cars, and operate tire changing and wheel repair equipment.

Five years of tire repair experience is required, with knowledge of tires, tubes and rims and repair procedures. Work outdoors in varying weather, and comply with safety rules; you may attend training and must pass a re-employment

Qualifications

• Five years work-related tire repair experience.
• Knowledge of tires, tubes and rims.
• Knowledge of repair procedures and techniques for City/Marion equipment.
• Ability to pass a re-employment physical.
• Work outdoors with variable weather conditions; comply with safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Change and repair tires on construction equipment, trucks and cars.
• Operate tire changing and repair equipment.
• Inspect tires for wear and perform tire maintenance as needed.
• Support road service for City vehicles and assist other workers as required.
• Maintain safety and proper handling of tools and equipment.
