Job summary

Lewis Energy Group, based in Encinal, Texas, is seeking a Tire Technician I to join our Service Center team. You will repair damaged tires on company vehicles and perform tire service including mounting, balancing, and rotation.

The role requires a high school equivalent, motivation, bilingual English/Spanish, good communication, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. We offer benefits and opportunities for career advancement.

  • Tool Maintenance: Daily inspection of tools and equipment; maintain cleanliness.

Lewis Energy Group is looking for a highly motivated Tire Technician I to join our Service Center team. The Tire Technician I will repair damaged tires of company vehicles.

Responsibilities

Tire Service: Mounts, balances, rotates, and repairs all types of tires from passenger to large trucks. Checks for required additional service. Ships, receives, loads, and labels tires.

Tire Change: Raises vehicle and removes tire by hand or, when repairing large tires of heavy equipment, by use of power hoist. Reassembles tire onto wheel, and places wheel on balancing machine to determine counterweights required to balance wheel.

Tire Repairs: Locates punctures in tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tire in water bath and observing air bubbles emerging from puncture. Seals puncture in tire. Removes inner tube from tire and inspects tire casing for defects, such as holes and tears. Responds to emergency calls to make repairs or replacements of damaged tires.

Tool Maintenance: Performs daily inspections of tools and equipment used. Ensures cleanliness of hand tools, equipment and parts.

Qualifications

Less than high school education; minimum six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Driver License.

Other Skills and Abilities

Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
