Job summary

City of Albuquerque's Solid Waste Management department is seeking a Tire Technician to maintain, repair, and service tires for light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment. This role supports safe and efficient operations in a municipal tire shop.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of tire repair experience, plus a New Mexico driver's license and a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Education directly related to the minimum requirements may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• High school diploma or GED required;
• One (1) year of tire repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose (and repair) malfunctions of tires and suspension.
• Tire installations, balancing, rotation, repair and inflation to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
• Maintain inventory; order parts, supplies, lubricants, tires and other materials as needed.
