Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a Tire Repairer to remove, repair, and replace tires on automotive vehicles and heavy equipment at the Fleet Operations & Maintenance facility in San Antonio, TX. Work hours are Monday through Friday, with two shift blocks.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of tire shop experience, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and strong reading, writing, and communication skills. Applicants may substitute education with related experience; pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for job performance.
• One year of tire shop attendant experience.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Removes and replaces worn or defective tires on automobiles, trucks, light and heavy equipment.
• Cleans and maintains tools, equipment, and work area.
• Locates punctures and seals/repairs using patches or adhesive material.
• Operates tire breaking and tire balancing machine.
• Picks up, delivers, and repairs tires for all City centers.
