• Visually inspect tires, wheels, and valves for wear, damage, punctures, or defects; test for leaks with water or soap methods.
• Repair punctured or damaged tires using patches, plugs, or vulcanizing methods per safety standards.
• Safely operate lifts, tire-changing machines, wheel balancers, tools, and torque wrenches.
• Position vehicles on bays, lift with jacks/hoists, and torque lug nuts to spec.
• Inspect, diagnose, and reset TPMS as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following OSHA and company safety protocols.

Job Summary

The Tire Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, removing, and mounting tires and wheels on passenger vehicles, light trucks, and commercial vehicles. This role requires a strong focus on safety, precision, and efficiency to ensure customer vehicles are serviced correctly and returned to the road safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Tire Service: Mount, balance, rotate, and install new or used tires and wheels according to manufacturer specifications.
• Inspection & Diagnosis: Visually inspect tires, wheels, and valves for wear, damage, punctures, or defects. Test tires to locate air leaks using water baths or soap solutions.
• Repair Operations: Repair punctured or damaged tires using patches, plugs, and specialized vulcanizing equipment in compliance with industry safety standards.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate pneumatic lifts, tire-changing machines, wheel balancers, hand tools, and torque wrenches.
• Vehicle Preparation: Position vehicles on service bays, raise them using hydraulic jacks or hoists, and properly torque lug nuts to factory specifications upon completion.
• TPMS Service: Inspect, diagnose, and reset Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) as required.
• Shop Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
